Price history
Paid·WeeklyTwo years of weekly closes against the aluminium benchmark, both in EUR/tonne on one axis. The gap between the lines is the discount you buy at.
On forecasting
We don't forecast, and we won't pretend to. No free provider forecasts aluminium scrap at all. The only free forecast that exists is the World Bank's Commodity Markets Outlook, which gives an annual average for primary aluminium, published twice a year — most recently $3,200/t for 2026 and $3,000/t for 2027. That is a useful planning anchor and we can show it. It is not a four-week view of what 226 will cost.
Discount to LME, against its normal range
Is this quote fair for where metal is — not just cheap or expensive in absolute terms?
This week sits inside the normal band, so the quote is roughly where it should be given where metal is.

Asia pays better this week. A supplier quoting you above €2,118/t is not bluffing — though €52/t is a thin margin once they price the freight risk and the longer payment cycle.
Where these numbers come from
- Real — from your Stena workbook
- MB DIN226A/A380. Price index WVM, LME and MB — weekly workbook supplied by Stena Recycling. LME last reported 12 Aug 2026; Metal Bulletin 14 Aug 2026; WVM 7 Jan 2026.
- Modelled for this concept
- Fair value is the reference index less a 35% scrap discount — melt loss, alloying, energy and refiner margin. The Asia bid, the freight deduction and the signal are illustrative. Your own purchase history is what would replace every one of these assumptions.
One year of estimated fair value ranged €1,372/t – €2,376/t.
